We had the symposium titled “Seventh Photonics Center Symposium “Nanophotonics in Asia 2012” in Kanazawa.
This year we had 96 participants from domestic and oversea institutions across the Asia engaged in diverse photonics research areas involving physics, chemistry, medical science and electric engineering. Participants shared their time to discuss on advanced Nanophotonics, especially Biomedical Photonics; there were 12 oral presentations and 51 poster presentations.
Thanks to the sincere participants, this symposium could be helpful to create research networks and promote international joint research among Asian countries.
The best poster awards were;
“Super-Resolution Imaging by Saturable Scattering of Single Gold Nanoparticle”

Co-authors: Tung-Yu SU, Yasuo YONEMARU, Ming-Ying LEE, Masahito YAMANAKA, Ko-Fan HUANG, Satoshi KAWATA, Katsumasa FUJITA, and Shi-Wei CHU.
”Detection of Intracellular Lipid Accumulation Using Fast Spectral CARS Imaging”
Harsono CAHYADI, Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University.
Co-authors: Hirohiko NIIOKA, Tsutomu ARAKI and Mamoru HASHIMOTO
“Control of Photonic Mode Density inside a Core of a Multi-Layered Sphere as a New Three Dimensional Photonic Crystal”
Kenji IMAKITA, Graduate School of Engineering, Kobe University.
