On July 28th, Sadakazu Konishi, Vice Governer of Osaka Prefectural Government and Junko Ikeda, Director of Life Science Industry Division, Osaka Prefectural Government dropped in on us and specially joined TMT.

Inouye, Executive Director of PARC, Takahara, Professor of Osaka University, Sakai, Vice Director of PARC and Iwasaki, Program Coordinator of PARC welcomed them. They were having a good time with active exchanges of their views on future promising industries and innovative technologies, and so on.

With regards to "Kansai Innovation International Strategic Comprehensive Special Zone (life-innovation)" which Osaka Prefectural Government has been promoting, we introduced that the field of Life and Medical science including Microscopes were based on "Photonics" and Photonics played a role in the sports and healthcare operation in Minoh city through medicine and engineering cooperation. Furthermore, we also explained that  Photonics was not a field/technology only for certain applications such as laser manufacturing equipment, but also had possibilities of generating a wide range of future industries in place of home appliance industry in Osaka.

Director Inouye was just trying to make Mr. Konishi understood that Photonics was a key for future technology which a variety of science and technology fields were based on and also Osaka University had the most prominent seed in the field.

At today's TMT, there were special participants!
Ms. Ikeda and our program coodinator Iwasaki were having a chat over coffee among the students.

We made sure that we could incorporate the redevelopment plan around new Minoh-senba station (tentative) and the relocation plan of Osaka University Minoh campus
into a part of Research Complex project in order to support financially for space, buildings, etc.
