The “Nanophotonics in Asia 2015” symposium was held at Nakanoshima Center in Osaka on December 10-11, 2015, under the JSPS Asian Core Program, which promotes the collaboration of Osaka University with partner institutions in other Asian countries (China, Taiwan and Singapore) on advanced nanophotonics research.

We had significant opportunities for advanced research exchange with six topics: nanophotonics, nanospectroscopy, nanoimaging, nano-biophotonics, quantum materials and metamaterials, and advanced photonic applications.

For this two-day symposium, we had a total number of 120 participants that included researchers and students (68 from Japan (including 2 from Morocco), 19 from China, 16 from Taiwan and 17 from Singapore), 22 oral presentations and 60 poster presentations.

This symposium culminates the final 5th year of the Asian Core Program, contributing to the advancement of nanophotonics research in Asia and fostering the growth of young researchers in this field.
