An article by prof. Takahara on Eco-Bulbwas published in Applied Physics (Oyo Butsuri), June 2015. Holes in the filament surface of a bulb serves to improve the conversion efficiency to visible light, by cutting off the infrared radiations of long wavelength on the principle of microwave waveguide. The photonics center’s “start-up and commercialization projects” paved a way for the productization of the Eco Bulb. Click here for the article file (in Japanese).
